Xinghao Qiao

I am a tenured Associate Professor in the area of Innovation and Information Management and a member of the Business Analytics Group at HKU Business School. I am also a Visiting Senior Fellow in the Department of Statistics at the London School of Economics, where I was previously a tenured Associate Professor.

I lead the Statistical Intelligence for Business and Economics Lab (SIBEL). We develop statistical methods to address problems in business and economics, focusing on learning from interventions, learning over time, and learning with AI. Our research spans causal inference and experimental design, complex time series analysis, and the statistical foundations of AI. We connect advances in these areas with applications in business and economics, including digital A/B testing, economic and financial modelling and forecasting, and the use of AI-generated data to improve statistical learning and decision-making.
